Today in History: On January 29, 1996 three Ploughshare activists broke into a British Aerospace factory in Lancashire to to cause damage to a jet that was going to be transported to the government of Indonesia. The jet would subsequently be used by the Indonesian government in their occupation of East Timor. The activists - Lotta Kronlid, Andrea Needham, and Joanna Wilson caused millions of dollars in damage to the jets. A fourth member, Angie Zelter, swore to finish the job started by the other three. All four were acquitted of the charges they faces.
